Welcome to Life With Pasta!

Hi there, and welcome! I’m Francesca Romano, the heart, hands, and palate behind Life With Pasta. If you’ve ever felt the pure joy of twirling fresh spaghetti, sharing a cozy meal with loved ones, or discovering a new favorite recipe, then you’re in the right place. Here, I share not just recipes, but stories and a philosophy: that food is about connection, comfort, and little moments of joy—one delicious plate at a time.

My passion for food isn’t just a hobby; it’s my calling. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to have my recipes featured in food magazines like Tastes of Italy and Home Kitchen, and I was a proud finalist in the 2022 Global Pasta Recipe Showdown. I’ve collaborated with artisan pasta makers in Italy, hosted virtual cook-alongs, and developed recipes for brands dedicated to quality ingredients. Each of these experiences has fueled my love for recipe creation, always with a dash of fun and a pinch of curiosity.

In my years of culinary exploration, I’ve come to realize that great recipes are a blend of tradition, creativity, and heart. Cooking isn’t about perfection—it’s about trying, sharing, and learning together. I truly believe that every meal, big or small, is an opportunity to celebrate life’s flavors. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: food always tastes better when it’s shared.

Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the internet. I can’t wait to welcome you into my kitchen!

How It All Started

My love affair with recipes began in my grandmother’s kitchen in Florence. Some of my earliest memories are of rolling dough under her gentle guidance, with the sun streaming in and the aroma of simmering sauce filling the air. I remember the excitement of Sunday family lunches, the laughter, the passing down of family secrets, and the pride I felt when my first batch of tagliatelle turned out just right. Those memories shaped not just my taste buds, but my approach to life and food.

As I grew older, I started collecting recipes in worn notebooks and traveling across Italy and beyond, always in search of new flavors and stories. What I love most about recipes is their ability to connect people—across generations, cultures, and continents. Whether it’s a quick breakfast, a comforting dinner, a sweet dessert, or an appetizer to bring people together, every recipe has a story and a purpose.

Life With Pasta was born from the desire to preserve these stories and share my ongoing culinary journey. I wanted a place where I could document my favorite dishes, experiment with new creations, and hopefully inspire others to create, taste, and savor their own delicious memories. It’s about more than food—it’s about building community and celebrating life, one recipe at a time.

Why You Can Trust Me

With over 15 years of hands-on kitchen experience—both in my family’s trattoria and in my own home—I’ve spent countless hours testing, tweaking, and perfecting recipes so you don’t have to. My background spans personal home cooking, professional recipe development, and even a bit of culinary training at the Scuola di Cucina Italiana.

I believe quality matters. Every recipe on Life With Pasta is carefully researched, tested multiple times, and only shared when it’s truly worth making. I’m dedicated to clarity, step-by-step guidance, and honest ingredient sourcing. My process includes taste testing (sometimes with very willing friends and family!), exploring different techniques, and adjusting recipes until they’re just right.

Photography and presentation matter too! I take all my own photos and strive to capture the beauty and story behind each dish—because I know that we eat with our eyes first. You’ll always find real, unfiltered food here, styled just like you’d find it on your own table.

Outside of the kitchen, you’ll find me hiking local trails, attending food festivals, and poring over old cookbooks for inspiration. I’m always learning, whether it’s from chefs I admire, family traditions, or even mistakes that turn into happy accidents.

My goal is simple: to help you cook with confidence, discover new favorites, and bring joy to your table. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned home chef, I’m here to cheer you on, answer questions, and celebrate your successes.
